HMD Global's marketing manager Neil Broadley has confirmed that all its Nokia smartphones including the newly unveiled Nokia 5.1, 3.1, and 2.1 will get the Android P update. This he confirmed while announcing the new versions of Nokia 2, Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 in May this year. But he, however, didn't mention the timeline of the software rollout. A new piece of information coming from Nokia Mobile Care now reveals that all the Nokia phones will get updated to the latest Android OS version, ‘Android P’ starting August 2018.

According to an email conversation shared with the NokiaPowerHouse, from a person named Mukesh, all Nokia Android phones will get Android P update starting in August this year. This bit of information has been given by a Nokia mobile care executive.

On replying to Mukesh's query about Nokia phones getting Android P update, the Nokia executive with the username Amaze balls noted, "All other Nokia devices are expected to get Android P on sometime in August." HMD Global is however yet to confirm the rollout timeline of the software.

At the Nokia 3.1, Nokia 2.1 and Nokia 5.1 launch event in May, Neil Broadley said that all the Nokia smartphones launched till date will be upgraded to the latest version of Android, the Android P. This means, all Nokia phones starting from low-end Nokia 1 to the new Nokia 8 and also the Sirocco edition will get Android P update. The list definitely includes the newly launched Nokia 2.1, Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 5.1 as well.

Broadley has also confirmed that all the Nokia phones running Android One including the Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 6.1, Nokia 5.1, and Nokia 3.1 will be upgraded to the latest software version for two consecutive years as demanded by Google for flagship updates. This means the newly launched Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 5.1 phones will get timely Android security updates alongside a guarantee of Android P and Q in the near future.

How hard I've hustled, how hard I've tried, how I never gave up, how I wanna succeed.
