Zidane has now reportedly tabled a wish-list of four star players he wants to sign should he become United boss
Former Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane, has reportedly compiled a list of four star players he will sign should he replace embattled Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford this season.
Mourinho's tenure at Old Trafford is said to be hanging in the balance after United's horrendous start into the new season.
According to the English outlet Mirror, Zidane has informed his close friends that he is expecting a call from Manchester United amidst Mourinho's tribulations at the club.
The French coach is now said to be working on a list of top players who he would sign if he joins the Old Trafford outfit.
Zidane, who is currently clubless is reportedly plotting to sign Real Madrid duo of Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez, Thiago Alcantara, and PSG ace Edinson Cavani.
Kroos and James have been on Manchester United's radar in the recent past, and their relationships with Zidane would act as a catalyst for the moves to take place.
However, it remains to be seen if United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward will grant Zidane his wish should he take over from Mourinho.
Zidane is said to have a burning ambition to manage in the Premier League and he would relish the chance of managing the Manchester club.
After working for the Real Madrid youth academy, the France legend made his managerial debut for Real Madrid after the Spanish giants sacked Rafa Benitez midway through the season in 2015-16.
Upon succeeding Benitez, Zidane won three-consecutive Champions League title with Real Madrid alongside numerous other trophies including one La Liga title.
